Now that The Abbey is a year old we took the time to reflect on how our year went. We had a potluck, people shared their journey over the last year, watched a slide show and had our first baptism, Ray Pfefferle. Some of the highlights were the two baby dedications, Jason and Katie Newman and their baby Trinity and Nathan and Brittany Condon and their baby Emmerson. We now have a service Sunday
on the
fourth Sunday of every month where we have our service next door at The Brants Creek Mews care facility, send people out to pray for the neighbourhood, help with breakfast at Metro and other events as they occur. We all come back together afterwa
rds for a potluck lunch and share how our morning went. There has been a group out on the streets on Wednesday nights that we have dubbed Street Monks that go downt
own and pray, listen and love those on the streets. We built veggie gardens for the daycare in our building, painted our little hearts out inside and out, refreshed a flower garden at our front door and did a little remodeling inside to make us feel a little more at home. Our community has had people come and go but we now seem to have about 60 people who call The Abbey home.
